David's Country Store has returned from the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2008 and what a reponse we had from all our stand visitors. The RHS even awarded a "Certificate of Commendation" for our stand display.
The 2008 Chelsea stand ( EA53) was a granary theme and an ideal place to show off nature's seeds. We are proud of our farming history and our knowledge of wildlife feeds, believing in the need to get closer to nature. In a world of high tech gizmo’s and computer games there is compelling evidence for us all to embrace the great outdoors and connect with nature. It is important for young children to explore the garden and local woods once again, to watch and experience the real world. To be slimed or even licked again . All these experiences will enrich both parent and child, and create a long term affinity with the creatures we share our world with.
Our team all worked hard in creating a memorable experience for all the visitors and showing why our customers believe our bird foods are so special. Chelsea is truly an international show and we now have customers as far a field as Greece and
South Africa.
Our well renowned Rowanberries we use in our Huskfree – No Waste were on hand to “feel the grain” and there will be plenty of advice on how to create a wildlife friendly garden. Our Robin with a bad hair-do was loved by everyone who entered our "Win a Colour Camera Nest Box" competition.
Our lucky winner is Lin Reeves of Eastville, Bristol. Well done Lin!
As a family business with over 250 years of nuturing and harvesting seeds, we believe we know a good seed when we see one! More importantly we believe we understand the wildlife in our back gardens.
We really hope we are given the opportunity to return to Chelsea next year and meet up with everyone again.
Best regards and happy birding,
David
